The Kick-off meeting for SAFER Project - (Systematic Approaches For Equality of GenderR) held on 1st of March, at SPAVO offices in Nicosia.
All partners were welcomed who brought a very positive outcome for the implementation of this project.
The definition of Gender Based Violence:
"Gender based violence is “violence directed against a person because of that person's gender (including gender identity/expression) or as violence that affects persons of a particular gender disproportionately. Women and girls, of all ages and backgrounds, are most affected by gender-based violence. It can be physical, sexual and/or psychological, and includes a) violence in close relationships, b) sexual violence (including rape, sexual assault and harassment or stalking), c) slavery, d) harmful practices, such as forced marriages, female genital mutilation (FGM) and so-called ‘honour’ crimes, e) cyberviolence and harassment using new technologies” Source: European Commision Site
