The third consortium meeting of the SAFER project took place in Nicosia, Cyprus on the 11th and 12th of March, 2019. The partners from Cyprus (SPAVO, Institute of Development and GrantXpert Consulting), Ireland (ICEP - Europe), Lithuania (Vilnius University), Greece (HAPPSY), and Ιtaly (CESIE) each provided great input which ensured the success of the meeting
During the meeting, the SAFER partners discussed the implemented and completed tasks of the project. Moreover, partners had the opportunity to train and be trained on the developed educational materials on gender sensitive pedagogy, building life skills and resilience, and character education.Gender-based violence prevention and intervention materials were pretested among the partners to identify urgent amendments which may be required prior to the commencement of the formal piloting process. The purpose of the piloting with the primary school teachers and school staff is to create awareness among teachers, students and the general public regarding the work of the SAFER consortium, whilst also gaining practical feedback from practitioners to aid the process of refining the training materials. .
Discussions were also held in relation to the timelines and expectations for the key upcoming project outputs, namely:
- The finalization of an animated movie
- The finalization of a short video
- The development of a short video among the researchers of the partnership
- The finalization of a mobile application
- The organization of all important events/festivals and conferences towards the completion of the project.
